In reply to Igor Brum. Exactly. And in the USA, at least, it depends on the kind of insurance you have. You can choose the legal minimum (to cover liability), "accident insurance" (to cover if you are in a crash), or "comprehensive insurance" (to cover theft and other damage like vandalism or flooding, etc). If you have a luxury car or a new car, it makes sense to have the higher insurance. But a lot of people don't have that & would not be covered in a theft

I guess having car insurance is really important. Otherwise, if your car is stolen, you’ll never see your money back.

In this article , I got a new perspective. I never thought that car theft would affect me , but now I know that car theft can increase the price of car insurance , which would affect me.
