In my personal experience, I would say 90% of maple syrup goes on top of pancakes, waffles, and French toast. It’s almost always a condiment at the breakfast table. If you go to a restaurant, they would put a small jar of maple syrup on the table if you order one of these things. Most people have it at home in a glass jar (if it’s fresh) or in a plastic one if it’s from one of the big brands. You can also use it in recipes to add a little sweet taste to roasted vegetables and stuff, but it’s almost always used on top of pancakes and waffles!

Maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised about the maple syrup reserves! It’s a good idea to protect against a bad harvest in a few down years.
