Basketball is probably the worst offender, with lots of dynasties and "dream teams" that shut out most other teams in the league.

I am a big tennis fan and love seeing the current match levels.
It is very important to have some brilliant players because it pushes/encourages other players to increase their tennis-level.
I disagree about the shinning players. All players have played or are playing in this situation; it is a learning process, and playing with good or exceptional players can work very well.
