I haven’t seen the Starbucks one, but my gym just started selling Stanleys with their logo on it. I’m afraid to look at how much they cost!

haha I hadn’t thought of that, but it works! Keeps your drink cool and you can probably prop it up in the sand without worrying about getting sand in the drink

Ah, perfect! I guess this is not a water bottle, but I do have a Yeti thermos that I mostly use for coffee. However, I notice it also keeps drinks cold and is portable.

I think in the future they will cause a different kind of pollution when they won’t be popular.

I almost forgot: at the beach, carrying your own Stanley to drink beer is a must.

Especially among children at school or people attending the gym. Interestingly it is also a trend to use Stanley products to…drink beer. Parties, barbecues, gatherings with friends, some people BYOC (c stands for cup, just in case you don’t understand the joke.) Anyway, I happened to receive one Stanley thermal cup as a gift. Even though I’d never buy one, I really like my cup and I found a special use for it. Sometimes if you are avoiding drinking alcohol, and have to attend a party or something, maintaining the cup full of iced sparkling water or zero sugar coke can give the impression to others that you’re drinking and engaged with the environment.

I definitely think a single bottle is good! A shelf of designer bottles, maybe not!

That’s why I like studying English here. I always find a story about things I think about in my daily life. And usually, I agree with Jeff’s opinions. In this case, specifically this one: “Some things I’ll never understand!” Of course, using these water bottles is good for the environment, especially with the global plastic waste crisis we are experiencing today. But, as always, the market distorts the idea and turns everything into a market trend. I’ve seen people on the street with bottles so big that if they needed to take a shower, they could use the bottle.

Ha! I agree. “Pour water inside the reusable bottle” – we would say, “fill up the bottle.”

This may not make a ton of sense. But in the USA at least, most bottled water comes from normal municipal or city water sources. So people drink bottled water to be cleaner or purer, but they just came from the tap somewhere. Not a spring in the wild!

When I used to work at school as a teacher in the middle school, two years ago more or less, a few of students would use this kind of bottle.
It wasn’t a good feeling. Every five minutes someone drunk water and some water sometimes felt on the desk.
Sometimes one bottle felt down on the ground and every ten minutes someone asked me to go outside the classroom to pour water inside the reusable bottle. It was quite a mess!
As far as I concerned, it is not so important to hydrate yourself every ten minutes, you can drink water two times during the school in the morning, unfortunately this is the trend.
Have you ever thought how people fill the reusable bottle with water? Using water in the plastic bottle. It don’t make sense, do you?
