Great example! You can say, “…where the cost of living is high.”

But in a few weeks I’ll be moving to a big city for a new job, but with the same salary. I think it will be hard to make ends meet, but I’ll try!

Perfect use of “make ends meet.”

People might understand, “lost his job” to mean, he was fired or dismissed. “Lost his job in an accident” makes it seem like he was dismissed from his job because of the accident (i.e. he caused the accident, was blamed for the accident). “Unable to work” is a phrase we use when someone suffers an accident and cannot continue working because of an injury. So you might mean:

“After his father was unable to continue working in his factory job after an accident, the family struggled…”

I know that’s a little more cumbersome, but would avoid any confusion about “lost his job”.

After his father lost his factory job in an accident, the family struggled to make ends meet. Despite their financial difficulties, his father wouldn’t allow his mother to work, refusing to admit that he couldn’t provide for the family.

I think this is a pretty complex sentence you’re trying here, but let me see if I get it. I think you mean,
“It’s important to have a good financial education during childhood, so that you can make ends meet easier by getting credit as an adult.”

If that’s what you mean, my tips for you are:
1. We would say, “as a child” or “in childhood” and “as an adult.”
2. “request for a big credit” … sometimes we would say, “get credit” which means to have the general ability to take out a loan for a house, car, or credit card
