True – the airlines can prepare you, but the pilot is the one in charge. I would say, “But the real situation is that the pilot is in charge of flying.” or “…the pilot is in charge of the flight’s safety.”

Perfect. I would say, “At my job” or “At work” rather than “at my work.” What you said is correct, but a common way to say that in English business jargon is KPI’s or “key performance indicators.”

I did not see the series, but I recently read the book “Midnight in Chernobyl” by Adam Higginbotham. My dad recommended the series, but after the book I needed a break from the subject, but I do want to see the HBO series.

According to the series Anatoli Djatlow was primary in charge of the accident.

Btw.: One of the best series I’ve ever watched. It describes the proceedings in Tchernobyl in an impressive way. Unfortunately is is based on a true story.
