Hi Tom – great job! Perfect use of “hold up” (although with roofs, you never know, right? Cross your fingers during the next rainstorm).

Quick tip for you: “mend” is not a common word these days, but when we use it, it’s for something small like a piece of clothing. In the case of a roof, I would use “repair.”

Almost … you want to say “the protection holds up for one year.”

You can say “now it’s holding up.”

Here are 2 more ways you can use it, since you’re just testing you leg out after an injury. You can say, “It seems to be holding up” or “It’s holding up well so far.” Both of those would be good alternatives, but what you said works too.
