Great example! This is a great time to use “even though” instead of “although” and combine it into one sentence: “I figured that she forgot my birthday even though I mentioned it many times.”

That’s great! I am not sure what you mean by, “I couldn’t have any progress.” Do you mean, “I couldn’t make much progress”? “I figured that” is correct.
