In reply to Dario. This is almost right. However, we use "egg on" when people try to get others to do something wrong. It's not common with parents egging children on, but it's possible. So you might say, "Some ultra-competitive parents egg their children on, pushing them to compete in more activities than is healthy"

In reply to EVERSON ZIN. You usually want a person after "egg on." The world seems a little general for this phrase. You could say, "Sometimes, politicians egg on their voters to adopt radical positions."
