Great example! Two small things for you: “citizens” is plural so you would say, “US citizens are calling out…” and the preposition we use with “call out” is usually “on”: “US citizens are calling out the government on the new tariff policies.”

Fantastic example. Let me give you a couple quick edits, but they are very small: “I was not going to call him out for being rude to staff members. I just wanted to discuss it in private. But that time, he was extremely arrogant and he left me no choice but to call him out at the board meeting.
