A couple things – and sorry for the delay in responding – but I think you mean “argument” (it’s a false cognate in Spanish too, discutir means to argue not to discuss). And the tense of “blow over” should either be past or future: “The argument was terrible, but they are old friends and soon it will blow over.” Or “…and it soon blew over.”
