I was sad about that, too. He clearly loved that city and the fans and he was willing to take less money to stay with the team. One thing I like about Lionel Messi is that you don’t see him involved in lots of controversy or trying to be a movie star or anything … he’s just dedicated to one thing, his sport, and he’s the best in the world (some say).

Perfect example. It’s good like it is, but you can also add the object “him” in there: “At the airport, my wife and I bid him a fond farewell.”

I like him because He is a different guy in comparison with the other football players in Argentina. Maybe more low key. I think, a despite his fame, he remained a humble person. I felt sad when I hearing about he tearful farewell to Barcelona team, principally because he ground up and dedicated his entire life of this institution.
